| Description: The owners of the recently completed Harborview at the Navy Yard condominium project are putting the project up for sale as a luxury rental property. The 224 condominium units will be converted into rentals by the lead developer Trammell Crow Residential. In addition to the one, two, and three-bedroom units built with high-end finishes like Brazilian cherry floors, granite countertops and marble baths, The Harborview contains 26,000 square feet of street-level retail and private underground parking.
"With mortgage markets tightening nationwide and local housing sales continuing their slowdown, we determined that the best direction for the project is to reposition the property as an upscale rental building," said Joseph Torg, a principal with Trammell Crow Residential, in a statement. Trammell Crow Residential is working with the Boston Redevelopment Authority to reposition the project as rentals. The Harborview units were going to start in the mid $300's before the project did a complete left turn and positioned them as rentals. Amenities that should remain in the building are 24-hour concierge, state-of-the-art fitness center, garage parking, storage unit, common roof deck, and water taxi service.
